Administrative history
The Jaffray Farmer’s Institute was formed in 1922 to buy bulk farm supplies and “stumping powder” used to remove stumps to create hay fields. The institute was dissolved in 1956 according to the Corporate Registry but it appears to have carried on until 1990. The first president was W.C. Barr, with other presidents being H.G. Hall, Ben Crow, J.J. Pooler, N. Breakwell, John Gornick, James Kearney, Bill Belanger, Bob Durham, and E.R. Durham.
