Biographical history
John Duncan MacLean was born in Prince Edward Island. He was a school principal in Rossland, B.C., before studying medicine at McGill University. He became a doctor at the age of 32. MacLean served in the provincial cabinet as Provincial Secretary and as Minister of Education, Railways, and Finance. He served as Premier of British Columbia from 1927 to 1928.
