John Irvine was a CPR/CNR surveyor and amateur photographer. He was born in Ontario on March 27, 1868. He worked as a surveyor for various railway lines in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia and California. He died from a fall while working on the North Thompson river near Round Prairie on August 11, 1911.
