Harry Jones was a Welshman who came to British Columbia in 1863 as part of the Company of Welsh Adventurers (aka the Welsh Brigade). As part of the Company, he worked as a miner in the Cariboo. He was the MLA for the Cariboo riding from 1903 to 1909.
