The file contains loose ledge pages containing a brief daily journal. Entries appear to be in two different hands and on the fourth page, the page begins with the header "Stuarts Lake Journal" and all entries may be from Stuart Lake post. The entries document events like weather and daily activities. Individuals mentioned include Michel Lacroix, Tomma, and Michel Deschamp. The two last pages contain lists of places (Thomasson River, New Caledonia British Columbia, Stuarts Lake) and the name Charles G. Ogden.
In the 1990s an Archivist worked to identify the approximate dates of the journal pages and has ordered them accordingly. Letters (a-e) have been added on the top right hand of the paper. Their research notes, including other sources of information, are included in the file.
Some pages have been torn and are missing information.
