In 1954, Dominion Timber Berth Survey field notes were transferred from the Lands Division, Dept. of Resources and Development, Ottawa, to Legal Surveys Division, Surveys and Mapping Branch, Dept. of Lands and Forests, Victoria (source: GR-0436, Series 1, box 16, file 34). The photocopied inventory of these field notes and the correspondence documenting the transfer is not available online).
The Timber Berth Survey field notes are maintained by Crown Land Registry, Integrated Land Management Bureau, Ministry of Natural Resource Operations. Dominion Timber Berths administrative files were transferred to the BC Forest Service ca. 1956 and to the BC Archives in 1984 (microfilm only). The BC Archives holds microfilmed Dominion Timber Berths administrative files in GR-1499, Timber Berths Licenses (1931-1951) in GR-1500, and a Dominion Timber Marks register in GR-1501. GR-1499 (94-4575-1 to 85) may be found on Reels B04554 - B04638, arranged by sequential file numbers. Originally accessioned as G84-158. GR-1500 (94-4589 - 1 to 4) may be found on Reels B04639-B04642, arranged by year. Originally accessioned as G84-159. GR-1501 (94-4580-1) may be found on Reel B04643.
