Biographical history

In 1978, the Prince George Forest District was renamed the Prince George Forest Region, however its boundaries remained the same. Between 1978 and 1981, the Region was reorganized to comprise of the following smaller Forest Districts: Dawson Creek-Chetwynd, Fort Nelson, Fort St. James, Mackenzie, McBride-Valemont, Prince George, Vanderhoof and Fort St. John. The names and precise boundaries of the Forest Districts changed over time.

In 2003, the Prince George Forest Region was amalgamated with Prince Rupert Forest Region to create the Northern Interior Forest Region.
