The British Columbia Conference of the Methodist Church of Canada was established in 1887. Prior to that date, the work of the Methodist Church in B.C. was carried out under the auspices of the Toronto Conference. In 1925, the Methodist, Presbyterian, and Congregational Churches in Canada were united to form the United Church of Canada.

Minute book, British Columbia Conference, 1887-1898 and typescripts of p 1-178 together with working copies. [The original minute book, apparently in a very fragile condition, was being transcribed by the Rev. W. Lashley Hall when he died in 1948. The original and transcript were deposited in PABC in 1948, at which time p 1-164 and 335-955 were filmed. The location of the originals of these pages is not now (1989) known. Pages 166-334 and all transcript material were filmed in 1989].
