History

The Metropolitan Methodist Church was founded in Victoria in 1859. Following the establishment of the United Church in 1926, the church became the Metropolitan United Church.

The Metropolitan Methodist church was built in 1890 following the plans of architect Thomas Hooper. The church stood at the corner of Quadra and Pandora Streets.

The building was later purchased by the Conservatory of Music.
