Acquired with sound recordings accession T2684 in 1978, this material was stored in the T2684 documentation until being re-described as a manuscript in 2011.
Scope and content
The series consists of handwritten and typescript drafts of some of Mildred Valley Thornton's articles and notes from her research on Indigenous folklore, music and dance, created sometime in the 1950's or 1960's. The series also contains a number of newspaper clippings, particularly about the life and career of Rev. Peter Kelly, 1947-1960, a copy of a newspaper article about Thornton published in 1971 and notes on her paintings written by her family in 1976.
