Ownership descended through the Carr family. Donor is son of Clara Louisa Nicholles, the eldest Carr daughter.

Physical condition

In 1978 it was noted that this daguerrotype had some tarnishing on the borders. The frame is housed alongside and is in need of repair.

Immediate source of acquisition

Donated 1978 by Mr R. V. Nicholles, 6402 Withers Road, Port Alberni.

Arrangement

This acquisition includes E-06843 plus two framed albumen prints ( E-09900; E-09901) of Richard Carr and Emily Saunders Carr, mounted and housed in wooden frame (to hold the two photos side by side, Mrs Carr on left) approximately 7 inches x 8 1/2 inches, photographer and date undetermined at time of accessioning.
