SUMMARY: A series of children's programs containing, among other things, a great number of nonsense verses about some of the more extraordinary place names in Canada, as well as other nonsense verse and prose.; The program is written and hosted by David Brock.

A.G. Harvey papers

The series consists of notes and correspondence pertaining to Harvey's career as Reeve of Point Grey and Vancouver City alderman (1909-1935). It includes draft bills, reports, and newspaper cuttings re town planning and Point Grey's amalgamation with Vancouver in 1929. The series also includes manuscripts, notes, and correspondence pertaining to Harvey's work as an historian with files on John Robson, Amor de Cosmos, David Douglas, and Mt. Robson and extensive notes on B.C. place names and early post offices. The papers have been arranged under four main categories: personal papers, notes and correspondence pertaining to civic affairs, literary and historical articles and notes, and notes concerning British Columbia place names.

The series consists of 25 volumes of British Columbia place name information created by the Provincial Archives of British Columbia around 1971. The files are arranged alphabetically by place name and each page contains information about the origin of the place name. The first volume also contains a bibliography which details the sources used.

British Columbia place name files

The series consists of nine Ledgerette volumes containing place name files for British Columbia, probably created by A.G. Harvey sometime between 1935 and 1945.
The files are arranged alphabetically by place with handwritten notes about the origins of the place name. References to the sources of those names are either written or stamped in the top right hand side of the pages, i.e. Walbran, BC Pilot, report of Geographical Board of Canada, Gosnell etc.

The series consists of the records of G.G. Aitken, Chief Geographer, created between 1915 and 1951. The records relate to boundaries, cartography, toponymy and geography and include correspondence, memoranda, reports, drafts, and geographic name lists and clippings.

The series also includes 32 printed maps including city and regional maps of communities in British Columbia, Alberta and Washington.

There are general files on origins, development, and organization of the Geographic Division; drafts and notes for annual reports, 1925-1935; staff organization and personnel file, 1920-1938; map production statistics, 1934-1951; file re Fort Norman, N.W.T. and Pouce Coupe oil fields, 1921; draft of Tweedsmuir Park brochure, 1938, geographic place name lists and notes, cards and clipping files.

The series consists of records created by the Geographic Division between 1916 and 1957, and contain the files of the Chief Geographer, G.G. Aitken, relating to cartography, toponymy, surveying, boundaries, and miscellaneous other geographical topics. The files include correspondence, memoranda, reports, drafts of publications, research notes, pamphlets and clippings and records of the Natural Resources and Map Committee, 1924-1934.

The series also contains 23 road, highway and rail maps and two photographs of an unidentified dam.
