The item is a Hudson's Bay Company indenture and contract of service made with John Thompson, Brickmoor, County of Stafford, May 10, 1854, binding him to serve the HBC on Vancouver Island as a working collier, miner, sinker or labourer for five years. The indenture describes work Thompson is expected to do, both on the voyage out and on Vancouver Island, hours of work and method of payment.

The journal includes small illustrations and photos and provides daily accounts of life on the Sunshine Coast. It also includes information about the Roberts family, whom Roberts Creek is named, as well as recounting friendships with Mary Connally from Brother XII's Aquarian Foundation in Nanaimo.

The scroll of marksmen of British Columbia : the grand aggregate
Item consists of one bound volume measuring 56 x 41 cm. It contains a list of gold and silver badge winners of the Grand Aggregate, an event held each year at the annual general meeting of the BC Rifle Association, starting in 1875. Though there are additional blank lines dating up to 1975, entries stop after 1931. Each entry includes the range (Central Park, Clover Point, Goldstream, Heals, New Westminster, Nanaimo, or Richmond), the shooter's military rank, corps, and city or town. Each page of the volume includes at least two unique, hand-coloured illustrations in the header. Pages are interleafed. Given the consistency of hand-written entries, it is likely that the volume was produced near or after 1931.

Item consists of one oversized certificate presented to Joseph Randle by Western Fuel Company, Nanaimo, upon his retirement as Underground Manager on December 3, 1904. The certificate has been embellished with calligraphy writing, colour, and gilt and signed by J.W. [?]tson.

The item is an educational film re B.C.'s Heroin Treatment Act of 1978, which initiated government programs for the treatment of heroin addiction in the province. Health Minister Robert McClelland, other government officials and medical staff are shown addressing symposiums and meetings in Vancouver and Nanaimo. The evaluation procedure is discussed, and methadone is shown being administered at Kelowna's Alcohol and Drug Centre. The official opening of Brannen Lake Residential Treatment Centre near Nanaimo (12-Apr-1979) is also shown. A sequence depicts patients being interviewed at the the centre.
