Scope and content

The series consists of photographs created or acquired by Alma Russell from 1890-1941. The images depict interior and exterior scenes of Victoria, Vancouver Island and other travels, including a trip to Nootka Sound with the BC Historical Association in 1910, which includes images of Chief Napolean Maquinna among others. The series consists of photo albums, prints, negatives, stereoscopic views, and postcards. The majority of photographs are without dates, descriptions or predictable order. Some negatives and prints from accessions 198203-037 and 197909-036 correspond to images from the other accession.
