General note

In Vancouver Carr was a popular art teacher and had many young students. This watercolour of Carr was a collaboration between young student and teacher. The pencil outline of the figure was created by Carr and some of the watercolour application as well. This can be seen particularly in the sophisticated figure of the dog. Carr also painted her face using the diagonal eyebrows she favoured to give her face comic aliveness. Compare the images from England.
