Biographical history

Crown corporation established in 1975, created to restore daily passenger and automobile service between Victoria and Seattle in order to develop Victoria’s tourist industry. Its principal asset was the passenger vessel, the Princess Marguerite, purchased from Canadian Pacific in 1975.
It was dissolved in 1992 and in 1993 became the Victoria Line Ltd. The asset was acquired from the British Columbia government by Clipper Navigation Inc.; Victoria Line Ltd. was dissolved in 2001/2002.

Documentary. This film depicts a trip from Seattle to Victoria on the S.S. Princess Marguerite, and profiles the history of the ship -- and of her namesake, an earlier B.C. coastal steamship that was sunk during World War II while serving as a troop transport.
