History

James Ferris Prowse served aboard the HMS Thetis as a Midshipman, which travelled the waters of B.C. and the Queen Charlotte Islands in 1852 and 1853. Prowse continued his career in the British Navy, eventually becoming a Captain. He died September 15, 1903 and is buried in Poole, Dorset.
