Reminiscences / Ernest Hubert Allcock, Ernest Hubert

The item is a photocopy of the reminiscences of Ernest Hubert Allcock. Allcock emigrated from England to Alberta in 1909 and worked on farms and on the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway. In 1914 he homesteaded near White's Landing, north of Quesnel. He was highway foreman in Quesnel, and from 1941 to 1952 in Lillooet.

Day book

The item consists of a microfilm copy of a day book, kept by John Lyne, a blacksmith at 150 Mile House, Clinton, and Quesnel, between 1906 and 1914.

Ledger

The file consists of an unidentified ledger from a business in Quesnel that covers the period 1867. It is indexed and gives details of various account including wages, freight and cash. Preprinted forms in the back of the book indicate that the business received goods from the goods steamers Enterprise and Victoria.

James Reid : account book

The file consists of an account book kept between 1875 and 1876 by James Reid, a Quesnel merchant. The book is arranged by daily accounts and includes the names of individuals and businesses, their account numbers and amounts charged or paid.

The file consists of a ledger covering the period 1905 to 1908. It contains cash accounts of Quesnel area individuals.

The file consists of an unidentified account book (possibly Quesnelle Quartz Mining Co.) from 1879 to 1890. The book contains accounts of Quesnel area individuals and businesses.

Bill of sale between Jean Caux and James Reid

The file consists of a copy of a bill of sale between Jean Caux (Cataline) and James Reid of Quesnellemouth. The bill of sale is dated at Quesnellemouth 2 June 1888. The record clearly formed part of a larger court file originally, as W.A. Johnston, J.P. has noted "A - This is the paper writing referred to in the annex and affidavit of John Stephenson."

The record was found in collection and was separated from its original file.

"David Lloyd-Jones" and M.V. "Lequime") on Okanagan Lake; highlights of Kelowna International Regatta; abandoned mine equipment and shaft; Barkerville (before its restoration); sawmill in Quesnel; a parade and rodeo events at the Williams Lake Stampede.
