Scope and content

Item consists of one bound album measuring 69 x 48 cm. It contains 98 blueprint plans for Francis Mawson (F.M.) Rattenbury's 1911 proposed additions to the BC Parliament Buildings in Victoria, BC, including a new library, west wing, and east wing. Each plan has a small white tag adhered to the front with a Public Works number (i.e., area number 19, building number 1, type (A, S, E, or M), sheet number (200-250), and remarks number (nos. 22500-22599; no. 22563 is missing or was not assigned). Plans are arranged within the volume by the Public Works remarks number. Plans 22500-22565 are arranged by building section--library, west wing, east wing. Each building section includes floor plans, roof plans, details, and elevations that are dated April 1911, followed by steel plans dated April 1911, and then steel plans dated July 1911. Plans 22566-22584 are undated electrical plans, arranged by building section (i.e., library, west wing, and east wing), and attributed to Herbert C. Moss, Illuminating Engineer as well as Rattenbury. Plans 22585-22599 are undated heating and ventilation plans, arranged by building section (i.e., library, west wing, and east wing).

Found with the volume is a document from Snead & Co.
