Describes mills in Kimberley. Kimberley in the early days; housing; company store. Member of the grievance committee; discusses working conditi;ons, coming of the union, workmen's committee, Harvey Murphy. Discusses working conditions; Depression days; metal bonuses; company gardens;. The war years: women coming into the plant; start of the t;in plant; rod mill; technological changes.
