Biographical history

Appointed May 16, 1912; report dated May 16, 1913. Commissioner: Matthew Joseph Crehan, chartered accountant, of Vancouver. The commissioner examined the administration of school affairs, the awarding of contracts, and the purchase of school sites and school supplies. He also investigated the administration of municipal departments and made recommendations regarding the financial affairs of the municipality.

The commissioner, Vancouver accountant Matthew Joseph Crehan, was appointed on 6 May 1912 to inquire into the affairs of the Municipality of South Vancouver. He investigated the administration of school affairs (purchasing of school sites, supplies, awarding of contracts, etc.) as well as the administration of the departments of the municipal government. Commission records consist of the original signed report (ts) plus copy and typewritten transcripts of proceedings (5 volumes).
