Item consists of a photograph of the H.M.S. Rocket at Friendly Cove (Yuquot), Nootka Sound. The photograph was taken by Oregon Colombus Hastings during the 1879 expedition commissioned by Dr. I.W. Powell, the B.C. Superintendent of Indian Affairs. O.C. Hastings was the official photographer for this journey.
