The series contains Grand Forks Magistrate's case material relating to truancy of Doukhobour children. Under the Community Regulation Act (1914), parents were responsible for the school attendance of their children between the ages of 7 and 14.

The series consists of registers of pupils for several public schools: Cardinell, 1926-1929; Cedar Valley, 1940-1944; Hatzic, 1911-1920 (with gaps); Silverdale, 1910-1931; Silverhill, 1928-1939 and Stave Falls, 1916-1926.

In 1945, these schools were consolidated to form School District 34 (Abbotsford-Mission) and in 1947 they became part of School District 75 (Mission).
