Studio portrait (mid-length) of an unidentified Indigenous individual seated and taken at a photographic studio attributed to Frederick Dally. It is a collodion glass plate negative. The sitter is wearing American/European clothes (jacket and waistcoat). The sitter's gaze is looking directly into the camera. The plain studio backdrop is visible. This negative does not appear to have been manipulated.

The negative is missing emulsion near the bottom edge of the portrait, resulting in a loss of the visual information on the plate in that region.
