Studio portrait (mid-length) of an unidentified Indigenous individual seated taken at a photographic studio attributed to Frederick Dally. The studio flooring and backdrop are not visible. This sitter has a blanket draped around their shoulders. They are wearing American/European clothes which is visible underneath. The sitter wears two earrings. The sitter's gaze is staring forward into the camera. It is a collodion glass plate negative. This negative has been manipulated (e.g. the backdrop has been removed).

The negative is missing emulsion near the bottom edges of the portrait, resulting in a loss of the visual information on the plate in that region.
