The series consists of videotapes transferred to the archives from the B.C. Department of Education. The items are educational television programs produced by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC Vancouver) and sponsored by the Department of Education's Audio-Visual Services Branch in 1972 and consist of six episodes of "The world of work".

The series also includes two videos produced by the British Columbia School Trustees Association for the School Boards of British Columbia (1979-1980) and nine audio cassettes recorded in 1979 regarding BC's future in science and research.

The fonds comprises videotape recordings of the public affairs program "Webster!", which was broadcast by BCTV from 1978-10-02 to 1987-05-01. The fond also includes an name/subject index of guests and topics and an incomplete set of daily line-up sheets.

The list of guests who appeared on the show is a virtual "who's who" from a decade in Canadian public life. Politicians, labour leaders, prominent business people, authors, academics and entertainers were among those interviewed by Jack Webster, a veteran journalist with a reputation for being both tough and fair. Ray Peters, Chairman of the Board, BCTV, comes on to congratulate Jack. The show ends with clips of some Webster’s finer moments.

Jack and Dr. Suzuki are diametrically opposed on this topic; Jack wants to continue to log, Dr. Suzuki tries to impress upon him that these areas have taken thousands of years to grow, and are irreplaceable; also, that the number of loggers in the Queen Charlottes are a small percentage of forestry workers. Jack then takes the opportunity to announce his retirement from his television show; and also shows film of where he grew up.
