This series consists of records of the Aboriginal Healthy Living group and related records created from 1993-2010. Records include committee files, executive records, treaty negotiation records related to health issues, and aboriginal health education and research files.

Committee files include correspondence, presentations, terms of reference, records of decision, and other records. Committee files relate to the Provincial Aboriginal Social-Economic Strategy, Aboriginal Health Transition Fund Adaption Committee, Aboriginal Health Leads Committee, Aboriginal Health Network, Aboriginal Health Transition Fund Workshop Subcommittee, and Aboriginal Reference Group Meetings.

Executive records include briefing notes, referral replies and issues records.

Treaty negotiation case files relate to the negotiation of health related agreements with First Nations outside of the B.C. Treaty Commission process and the negotiation of formal pre and post treaty agreements. Records may relate to the identification and negotiation of the Ministry's responsibilities for the delivery and provision of certain health programs and services, the definition of new authorities for First Nations over the design and delivery of health programs and services, and the establishment of inter-ministerial and/or inter-governmental agreements. Files relate to Nisga’a pre-treaty agreements related to MSP and treaty negotiations, as well as the ʔaq̓am (St. Mary’s Indian Band) Community Care Home interim agreement and Maa-Nulth First Nations Treaty Society negotiation.

The series consists of 76 predominantly studio portraits of Indigenous people in what is now known as British Columbia, taken between ca. 1862 to 1890. The majority of the photographs were taken by Hannah Maynard, however some are attributed to Frederick Dally and Carlo Gentile (perhaps others). Photographs were produced and marketed as commercial products popular during the 1860s and 1870s, such as 'cartes de visites', and, to a lesser extent, as personal portraits in the late 1880s. Maynard's studio produced conventional portraits as well as composite photographs which combined portraits with field photography landscapes. Indigenous communities and individual's names have been identified at the item level when known.

The fonds consists of correspondence and reports written by and about Robert William Torrens between 1858 and 1865. In 1859 and 1865, Torrens took part in several different expeditions that took him to Haida Gwaii, along the Nass River, through the area of Clayoquot Sound, and to Bear River. During these trips, he interacted with many local Indigenous populations, and wrote about these encounters in his reports. The fonds also includes several letters of recommendation for Torrens and his 1865 oath of office for the position of stipendiary magistrate for the colony of Vancouver Island.

The file contains an edited copy of the typescript "Thirty years a missionary on the West Coast of Vancouver Island", probably made around 1959. The typescript contains an account of the experiences of Father Charles Moser, O.S.B., as a missionary stationed at the Clayoquot villages of Opitsat and Hesquiat between 1900 and 1930, based on his original diary. The manuscript was produced by Mrs. Dorothy Abraham, who also wrote the introduction to it. The editing appears to have been done by Father Moser and by Dorothy Abraham.

The file also contains introductory notes by Mrs. Abraham and two letters to her from Father Moser (dated 1949 and 1959), and a copy of a newspaper article about Father Moser written by Abraham in 1966. There is also a b&w portrait photograph of Father Moser, taken by the Drake Bros Studio, Silverton, Oregon.
