Scope and content
The series consists of Vancouver Supreme Court civil orders between 1944-1976 and 1980-2005. Orders dating from April 1944 until December 1945 were microfilmed and the originals destroyed. Between ca. 1980 until 1994, civil orders were separated into different series by the court registry: statutes (“A”), motor vehicle (“B”), general civil (“C”), and foreclosures (“H”). Beginning July 1994, civil orders and judgements were once again combined into a single series of numbered volumes prefixed by the letter “S”.
The records are arranged within volumes by folio number. They were scheduled for full retention under Court Services ORCS (schedule 100152) 51400-25.

Finding aids
File list available: http://search-bcarchives.royalbcmuseum.bc.ca/Document/Finding_Aids_Atom/GR-2001_to_GR-2500/GR-2011.pdf
To locate records, researchers will either need to know the volume/folio number for all post 1993 records and/or the case file number for earlier records. Archives staff have access to some indexes prior to 1994 through the Court Records Management Manual (although these indexes are minimal) and case cards exist for some records in accession 83-0390. Archives staff have an internal index for records in accession 83-0542.

Accession number(s): G89-235 (91-4215), 83-0542, 93-6203, 93-6205, 93-6206, 93-6207, 93-6208
General note
Records in accession 83-0542 were originally described by the Courts as containing orders and judgments, but appear to only contain orders.
General note
Records in accession 93-6203, boxes 1-82, were microfilmed as accession 91-4215, boxes 49-156 (B08682- B08685; B14489-B14592). The originals from 93-6203 are thought to have been destroyed after microfilming.
