The Society was founded in 1906 or 1907 as the Victoria Ladies' Musical Club. It was incorporated June 1, 1912 and superseded by the Victoria Musical Art Society which was organized in July 1930.

Scope and content
The fonds consists of minutes of general meetings, executive and director's meeting, and secretary and treasurer's reports. The fonds also includes scrapbooks containing photographs and ephemera. Fonds includes records of the Victoria Ladies' Musical Club.
