Name of creator
The records were originally found loose in a volume of records transferred from Court Services in 1980. They were then removed from the volume and reaccessioned as part of G88-135 at the BC Archives.
Scope and content
The series consists of an affidavit and a notice regarding payments to be made in the bankruptcy case of R.F. Pickett, a Victoria merchant. The governing legislation for the case was the “Bankrupt Law Consolidation Act” of 1849. Records in the series provide a listing of Pickett’s account at the Bank of British North America and an affidavit of Henry Atkinson Tuzo, bank manager.
Immediate source of acquisition
The records were found loose in volume 5 of accession G80-027 (Court registrar’s diaries) which was transferred to the BC Archives by Court Services in 1980.
