The item is a video compilation tape with copies of various films related to BC, from the Allan D. Taylor collection.
Films represented include:
- Victoria, B.C., 1912: newsreel items of parade, shots of men carrying flowers, parading solemnly through the streets of downtown Victoria.
- Victoria, B.C. : news items of 1913: newsreel items, Shriners arrive, liner (ferry?) approaches Victoria dock returning from USA and passengers disembark.
- Victoria, B.C., 1919: newsreel items of May 24th celebrations with shots of parade held on Queen Victoria's Birthday. Automobiles, floats, militia units, including men of the RCN, Canadian Army Infantry and Artillery in parade with horse-drawn pieces.
- Victoria wartime, 1915: Soldiers line up outside Parliament Buildings for ceremonial inspection.
- Victoria waterfront, 1909: newsreel footage of pan across Victoria's Inner Harbour from Grand Trunk Pacific Railway building, past marine sheds with various business establishments in downtown Victoria.
- Wartime Victoria, 1914: troops of Canadian Infantry Expeditionary Force march smartly past camera and reviewing stand on Yates Street in wartime Victoria.
- World record flight, 1926: newsreel item of two American pilots, Evans and Wells who set a world record by circling the globe in 28 days.
- Anacortes-Victoria ferry parade, 1921: newsreel item of giant floats, covered with flowers, parade through the streets of Victoria on the way to the waterfront where vacationers will board the "Princess Louise" for an excursion to Bellingham.
- Victoria harbour shipping, ca. 1920: newsreel footage of recreational boating, diving and swimming, Victoria Harbour shipping. British American and Bapco Paint depots, coastline near Victoria, car tour of stately residences in Uplands, boat in Esquimalt dry dock, breakwater.
- Victoria harbour piers, 1920: newsreel footage of Canadian Pacific Steamships ticket office. Dog Muggins collects $13,000 for Red Cross.
- Joe Bayley vs. Johnie O'Leary, Canadian Light Weight Championship boxing match, Brig House Arena, Vancouver, 1914: newsreel footage of challenger Bayley meets Canadian Lightweight Champion O'Leary in an open-air arena.
- Duke and Duchess of Connaught visit, 1912: gigantic parade with Duke and Duchess preceding procession in carriage, followed by carriages carrying Lieutenant-Governor and other officials.
- Canadians leave Victoria for overseas, 1914: newsreel footage of Canadians boarding liner (ferry?) to go overseas as support for Canadian Regiments already there.
- Good old fashioned picnic, Victoria, 1914: newsreel item of the Sir Richard McBride Picnic with hundreds of Victorians in attendance.
