Administrative history

Yale School District was established in 1869 as a common undefined school district comprised of one school. It was re-classified as a rural and assisted district in 1906. By 1942, eleven rural schools made up the Yale School District. In 1946, nearly all of the existing school districts were consolidated into seventy-four (74) large administrative units and the new school districts were assigned numbers. Yale School District was disestablished at that time. Some schools were closed and the rest were divided between School District No. 31 (Merritt) and School District No. 32 (Fraser Canyon).
